What's going on fellas long time no talk hahahaha. So me and the guys have been riding all bike are good ,my friend decides he want a bigger car so he goes out and gets a 30mm oko chrome carb .now the issue is all the steering are all the way turned in and it sounds really rugged toward higher rpm so I try to tune the carb accordingly but if u move the air screw Even a qtr turn out the idle goes crazy and its not Controllable .is there anything about the chrome 30mm oko I should no about ? Thanks .

Sounds like you have introduced an air leak.

Or the float level and jetting is completely wrong.

Did you check that you had the correct jets.

Do you run oil injection?

I don't run oil injection,it's all mixed gas.... I'm stumped because I have a kehin 35mm on mine ,And my bike runs amazing although I did get my carb off a kdx 200. I'm lost as to why his would ride so horrible, like the settings on the carb are turned all the way In so when I go to set the air screw if I turn it even the slightest bit the rev goes crazy I need help hahaha.

like blaster said first leak test then if no leak you need to jet correctly and plug chop to confirm.improper jetting and air leaks will make your friend need a new top end to go with his carb

Lol I will send let him no .... I was doing research on this carb and It said that the chrome slider can get stuck and that there are air ports on the carb also that may need to be plugged...is that true?

When he received the oko 30mm carb he went And slapped it on ,I'm not sure what the jets are exactly ,hey awk I feel like you I never had to change my jets, due to the air screw flim me so if we ride the same trails and things like that why is his carb causing so much trouble granted I have a kehin 35mm, and he has a oko 30mm is there anything differ that I should be doing ?

thats the difference between an OKO (keihin knockoff) and a genuine keihin.

you cannot just slap any carb on and hope it works, you got a better chance of hitting the lottery :D
he has to confirm what jets are in there now, and we'll search some threads for what others are using...successfully.

i'm thinking pilots in the 42-50 range,
mains 145-155 range.
but we cannot tell you/him exactly what jets, you must follow the airscrew/pilot jetting thread i posted above, and plug chop main jets until it's correct.
i've also had to change needles on my 34 PJ
from whatever it was jjh(?) to a dgh
