i have been out messing around with the engine for a min today its kinda hard though it feels like it is a 1/2 degree outside lol but anyway i noticed a small hole on the left side of the engine case and i was wondering if i got it tig welded if it would work good enough and will it run without it being fixed cuz i wanna hopefully have the top end rebuilt by the end o xmas weekend and i would like to get it started and broke in i dont wanna do any serious riding its too cold for me but to jus let it set on my porch and run is it ok or is the engine completely shot

If i were you, i would just get a new case. whichever side the hole is on, get replaced. once a hole is there, it can cause damage. even if you weld it shut, there still could be a serious problem. i wouldnt take the chances, but its up to you, ur blaster. hope this helps a little and good luck!

will it run like this though and i hate the cold man it makes all my previous injuries hurt lol

it might run but probably not a good idea. you might lose oil as your riding cause it will be sloshing around in the cases. deffinately get it welded before you ride it at least

theres been lots of people that got there cases welded if i can recall right if the hole isnt to big it shouldnt be a problem dont run it with the hole thats for sure

so jus out of curiousity were could i find a good deal on a whole engine i searched ebay didnt like wat i saw but r there other places online that sell engines in working order for good deals

if its to cold your to old!!

hehe..I'm too old...lol

Watch the for sale section of the forum. People part them out fairly frequently. You'll likely get a better deal and be likely to get good parts here than ebay. I may be parting out an engine sometime soon myself.

Ebay can have really good deals but usually not all the time. I once saw a whole bottom end for a blaster go for 100 bucks. Even if it needs a full rebuild, that was a hell of a deal. You just gotta stalk the ebay blaster stuff regularly.

My question is , how did the hole get there? cause generally as a rule holes just don't show up . Find out why , then make a decision from there . Once you have determined if the internals are fine , then yeah just getting the case welded is fine , not a problem at all . BUT if theres metal in the case , your gonna waste the bottom end in a heartbeat .

ok so i got a pic that i can show were the hole is i stole a pic from crxbart and outlined were it is but i dont know how to put the pic up on here

get yourself a tinypic or photobucket account. upload the pic there and then just copy and paste the img code in the box where you type

ok so the hole is were i got circled remember i have never dealt with these engines or any bike engine b4 but anyways i noticed that the black groove from the black case isnt there either so i guess the guy busted it messing with it somehow wat is the damage i noticed a couple shavings after i took the case off but i didnt see any damage wat should i do
