Oil Pressure "Idiot" light always on 2000 blaster?

Hey guys, new here, been riding since I was a kid, but I have a question. I have a 2000 blaster and I can't seem to get the oil pressure light to go off... I changed the tranny oil, and there is plenty of oil in the back little thing (to mix with the gas), I put exactly 650 cm^3 (mL) into the tranny and it still came on, so I put another 50 mL, nothin, still stays on. It was blinking on and off recently, so i figured I'd change the oil. Is it a bad sensor? Maybe a corroded wire? I'm really annoyed with it, cause I don't want to hurt the tranny, but I just don't know what else to do? Any help would be seriously appreciated.

I may not be as dedicated to my quad as many of you guys are, but I like to keep it in good shape. It still runs awesome, starts on the first kick every time. (Still slow as.... heck though, compared to my RM 125 bike ;))

Thanks in advance...

EDIT: Also, apparently the manual for either my or my sister's blasters have disappeared, they used to be in a filing cabinet, but she moved out, things got moved around, and they're no where to be seen. So another quick question, to check the oil you're supposed to look through the sight glass right? What exactly are you supposed to see? I THINK I remember it saying it's supposed to look half full when the oil is warmed up? Maybe when it's running? I'm not sure exactly.

The oil light is for the 2cycle oil in the back of the quad, not the trans. Some guys on here remove the oil injection setup and premix our gas instead. If you decide to keep it stock, I have my oil injection parts in my basement that I could sell you pretty cheap. If there is oil in the tank, the sensor would be be a good place to start.

Hmmmm... I could have SWORN it was for the tranny oil, guess I read the manual wrong. Is the sensor REALLY needed? If there is oil in the tank, and the oil is getting used, I should be fine right? How quickly does that oil get used? I mean who would put somethin electronic on a freaking simple two stroke engine anyway?

Is it really needed... technically no as long as you are in the habit of checking your 2cycle oil before every ride. Obviously the whole reason it is there is to be a warning if you oil level gets too low so you don't damage your engine. If you want to remove the bulb, that is up to you

I honestly do think it's the sensor, because the first thing I did when I saw the light blink on and off was add more 2 cycle oil to the back. Right now it's about 3/4 full, so I think the sensor is going bad. And besides, I'm not sure if it's an oil "pressure" sensor or just an "is the oil there" sensor lol, because that tank isn't pressurized, there's a vent hole in the cap.

Thanks for the info though.

It is not pressurized. It should just be an "is the oil there" sensor. Like I said I have my oil injection parts downstairs if you want to keep the stock setup functional. Otherwise just keep topping the oil off before every ride.
