I need help.. my oil plug hole on my engine is stripped. Yamaha does not sell any types of oversize plugs i can use. Has anyone has this problem or have any ideas what I can do..
i beleive the suzuki lt250 has a 14mm drain plug, versus our 12mm plug
then just re-tap your hole to the new larger size, and flush the tranny to get any filings out
Dam 14mm is mad big. Do you know I can get a heli coil that would work for the blaster.. What size is the one on the blaster. Like 12 x 1.25 mm or something.
wat i did was went to my local tractor supply, farm and lfeet ect. i got this rubber tube lookin thing that had a screw in it to where when i tightened it it would expand . it seems to be working so far. i tryed the oversized self tapping bolt too but didnt work too good
I know what your talking about. The rubber gets wider as you tighten it. .. What happens if you go in to far. I know that rubber piece is long . Would anything hit the transmission . How far in can I go before it start touching parts . I have to take a pic maybe someone can tell me the part I see.
I used heli coil to do Mine, worked like a charm. Yes it's 12mmX1.25. and yes you can go in to far and hit the tranny and really mess things up. So be very careful even when tapping!
Good just what I wanted to know. So that is the exact one I need is the 12 x 1.25. where can I get that one cause none of the parts store has the one. Do you have any links..
The one with the sleeve is the better style, and is called Time-serts they are super expensive but are the best choice! They usually cost two to three times as much as heli-coils. However I have had no issues with my repair so far and have had the bolt out at least five times. Yes u use your stock bolt!
Where can I get the whole kit or should I just get the ones you showed me and just buy the drill bit and tap.... I hope they have a kit I don't want to buy the wrong drill bit..... just found this its a little much but better then any thing else I've seen ... I'm not going to replace my whole bottom half of the engine even tho it is probable cheaper Amazon.com: TIME-SERT M12 X 1.25 Metric Thread Repair Kit 1212: Automotive
