Hey guys just bought a blaster its a 2002 and ive seen on a few videos on youtube when the quads started the oil light stays lit for a few secs mines doesnt do this has it meant to??

Cheers

The oil light is an indicator of oil level in your oil injecor tank, the light comes on when oil is low. Does your blaster still have an oil tank and injection? This is commonly removed with pre-mix being neccesary from there on. Make SURE one way or the other. Running without oil is a bad thing!

It is also possible that the bulb is burned out, at the very least, with other electrical probs being possible too.

As for YouTube, were those videos of blasters or other quads? A four-stroke quad has an oil pump and its light coming on at start-up shows a lack of oil pressure and then it goes out as pressure builds.

if you still do the injection, a little tip, never trust that light, also check your oil levels whenever you put gas in and before every trip. just make sure you dont put too much in or it will start to leak out. i was helping someone and they had way too much oil in it and it leaked all over my driveway.

Cheers for the help guys, yeh a understand about oil presure lights etc
It was on a video i seen on here recently would you recomend removeing the tank etc ?? what kind of work is it?

Cheers

it isn't hard to do, there is a DIY thread. just need to make sure you have a good plug in the carb so you dont get an air leak.
