Hey I was just wondering if you think I'm okay to run the oil injection or if I should switch to pre-mix. My engines bone stock but I'm running FMF fatty, turbine core II, FMF power up jet kit (stage 3), boysen power reeds, K&N with outerwears pre-filter. I've run it for a couple years with just the standard oil injection but got to thinking maybe with the jet kit i should have a lil more oil going in there? any thoughts?

I'd really rather not, just yet anyway, because once i'm outta college and have the money I wanna get some engine work done anyway and get it done then, for now it's a nice convenience having the injection but do you really think with the jet kit the fuel/oil ratio is changed much?

im really not sure, i had the oil injection on my blaster up until a few months ago, its just one less thing to go wrong.
i do miss not having to premix thou that was nice, but once you do it a bit its pretty easy.
i did it the same time i put the pipe on and what not

thanks alot i didnt know that they ran 20:1 i will start useing that instead of 32;1. i wish i hadnt removed it from the wifes blaters now. but hey at least i learned something aobut it..also i was wondering now that i know more about the blasters how can the injector go bad with the exception of the plastic gear on the inside of the case, becasue the how set up is mechinical with the exception of the low oil light.....

No problem. I didn't know that ran 20:1 either until I read that. I have a feeling it won't be long before somebody chimes in suggesting that you not run 20:1 and you stay with your current mixture. I don't know why though. lol I personally thought the writer made a lot of key points that I completely agree with. My plan in the future is, after riding for a certain time, maybe try to drain the oil in the tank and disconnect the hose and clean them out real good to try to clean out any build up or debris inside, however I don't know if anyone else has done that so I don't know if it's a good idea or not. :-/

Thanks a lot for the link. I agree, I like the oil injection for a trail set up. I don't race but I like having a little more snap from the exhaust and intake mods. Plus it gives me enough power to run 22 in. tires and 14/38 gears. I gotta get it clocked sometime to see just exactly how much I've lengthened the gears haha. And basically the oil injection is set up fairly on the rich side already, so with the slight increase of fuel I get from jetting the stock carb for all it's worth, I'm probably pretty well off for fuel/oil mixture. At least that's what I'm thinking, right?

You also gotta remember that there's only one person talking about that to.
i was a strong believer in the oil injection system, message some of the builders on the site, i took the whole system off after i pulled the clutch cover and realized it was a plastic gear running the whole system. After getting my clymers manual it says to bleed the air lines ever tiem the quad has been tipped on the side. to avoid all of this i put 4 oz's of oil to every gallons of gas i put in.
