Oil for the chain

i know this is pretty basic but i always use to just pour oil on my chain as i slowly turn the tires till the entire chain in done.. well while performing some TLC today i decided to put my chain oil is a old squirt bottle and same concept just not a mess to clean up after..

Thats a pretty good idea! Does it squirt out ok? I've got mine in an old dish soap bottle.

yeah i wasnt sure if it was going to work or not but it does.. it squirts great..

I've never oiled my chain so idk but what's the best oil to use??

the book says 50w80 motor oil i use 10w40 cause its what i have

anything is better than nothing on the chain.

i usually oil it after i ride though and after i clean it. that way it will keep water out of it. when riding, i will use something a little thicker that sticks better. oil just comes off very easily when riding.
