i just got my blaster and was think about this today. i havnt checked the oil yet. does this have both transmission oil and engine oil or do you only need to change the transmission oil and the engine oil is the 32:1 gas oil mix? i dont know much about this yet. also how do you change the oil and what type do you use?? thanks!!

The only oil in a reservoir on every Blaster out there is in the transmission.

If you are running the oil injection system, there is also an oil tank on the left rear side of the quad, filled by removing a cap under the seat.

If the oil injection is gone, this tank is gone and you pre-mix your oil. 32:1 ratio is safe for most oil brands. If you run AMSOIL, you can mix 50:1. Follow the directions on the oil bottle.

To change your GEARBOX oil (used on every Blaster, even if the oil 'jection is gone), warm the quad up. Then take the drain plug off the bottom of the engine...it just unscrews like the one on a car or truck. Let the oil drain. There is a small sight glass on the bottom of the right side engine cover which lets you monitor your oil level. When the oil finishes draining, put the plug back, take off the black plastic fill plug on the top of the clutch cover, and refill with fresh oil until you see oil 3/4 the way up on the sight glass. You may have to clean mud and dirt off the window on the sight glass for you to be able to see it.

DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE OIL IN YOUR GEARBOX!!!!! Honda HP80W, Bel-Ray Gearsaver, or Type F ATF only! Get a bottle of oil designed for use in motorcycle and ATV gearboxes. Friction mods in regular engine oil will burn up your clutch.
