just remove the gear inside the clutch cover for the pump and block off the line going to the carb.

Pull the line off of the carb and plug it up with the little nipple, secure the nipple with the little zip tie. I added a little RTV for good measure. If this nipple isn't blocked off then it will make you run lean and potentially blow your motor!! IMO, this is the most important part of the whole process!! It wouldn't hurt anything if you left the pump in there.
You have to take the clutch cover off to get the pump off, which is why the kit has a new gasket. Bolt that block off plate in-place with the gasket, throw the clutch cover back on, fill the transmission with fluid!! and you''re good. You can remove the oil bottle and lines as well. You can silicone up the holes in the oil pump cover if you want.
