Time for a new top-end.

damn, sorry to here that nathan,
did you pinpoint the airleak before tearing it down, so it doesnt happen again with the new top end ???

I know what that's like! That sucks man, but hey, you can send it to Ken to get bored, AND ported!!

those scratches will buff right off I:I

I wish!

Wow! That piston is jacked up. Put it on eBay and see if anyone is stupid enuff to bid on it .lol.

Lol, and yeah its pretty bad, luckly the cylinder is alright. a hone will do it up.

No, but im not even firing this thing back up without an airleak tester. NEVER making that mistake again. I put off looking for this, but when i did the compression test today and it was below 50 psi, i knew it was bad. Now i know one was coming from the clutch cover as the gasket was a little torn.

that is bad!!!! oh man all cause of an air leak? wow.
yupp

Yupp, it sucks. On the budget im on i dont think i would have the cash to get it ported, im taking it to the local yamaha dealer tomorrow to get the current bore measured and see what he thinks needs done, just honed or bored. The cylinder doesnt look to bad to me.

As long as there is no scratches that you can feel with your finger then you are good. Still good to get the bore size though

Well after further review, the cylinder will need bored, had my mom run her fingernail inside the cylinder and he finger found multiple scratches. Also found something elsr that caused some of thid carnage. Lean conditions!

I dobt now if you guys can see the number on the main jet but it reads 230! I should be in the 270-300 range! Damn it!

I thought you would know better after being on here a while man, that sucks! Now you know though

Hang your head in shame and write ( I will allways do a leak down test and a plug chop ) 100 times. Lol.

This thing has been broke awhile ago, but i kept putting it off looking for other things wrong, but when i did the compression test today an it was below 50 i knew something was wrong with the top end, so i found this. My blaster has been sitting in my grandparents garage for 3 weeks. The bad thing was is i was doing a plug chop and then it just bogged down and shut off.

lol, i wish thats all i had to do! Gotta come up with 200 dollars now. lol

If that carnage was caused by a #230 main, which it was, then possibly you have no air leak and the lean mix was the only problem.
