New guy here from Burlington NC with a 2001 Blaster. Basically stock other than Wiesco piston that I put in a few weeks ago when I rebuilt the motor. Future mods include some different plastics, nerf bars, pro taper bars, some different exhaust, and carb. I am headed out the door now to pick the bike up from the tire shop where they mounted some new tires for me. Pictures will be up tonight I:I

I will have some off the wall questions I am sure because I am new to the Blaster stuff. My last quad was a 1986 TRX 250R will a ton of modifications. Here is a picture of it...

Hope to take the blaster to the same level.

Welcome! Also from NC, here... Have fun with your Blaster. I'd go for suspension upgrades first, then maybe some engine work... Definately get rid of the stock exhaust if it is still on there. Show us some pics!!

Thanks guys!

I have learned quite a bit from the forum, unfortunately the blaster took a dump this weekend. Think the crank bearings are shot cause it sounds like the piston is hitting the bottom of the head. It's at the mechanics place now to see what broke.

I miss the 250r badly. Kid I sold it to wrecked it and demolished it. All that hard work and money i put into it and he killed it in less than 2 days.

Did the kid get hurt when he killed it?........I sure hope so. X(

Thanks guys, already found some useful tips and stuff.

The kid that wrecked my old 250r broke his wrist and did something to his shoulder. The 250r was trash after that, broke the entire front end and then he decided to "pull the motor and rebuild it" to put it on another quad. Never happened, there was nothing wrong with the motor anyway. Most of it was parted out. Disgusted me to see it on craigslist.

Unfortunately the blaster took a poop a few weekends ago. Whoever installed the "new top end" Installed a stock bore piston in a 10 year old cylinder. It was slightly worn out to say the least. Soooo, it is being rebuilt the correct way now.
