I just had my engine totally re-worked. Brand new everything. When I spin my flywheel by hand and I reach TDC it sounds like the piston is hitting something. I can hear is clearly and it happens everytime I "jiggle" the flywheel at TDC. Does anyone know what may be happening?

who assembled this, you or ken ?
if ken, have you called him before posting on here ?

i know for fact, that ken puts all his fully assembled motors by him, on a kicking stand and kicks them over to test compression, especially on a modded head motor, as he will pull and recut any head that doesn't match the compression he was looking to acheive
he definately would have heard anything out of the ordinary

and it's all but impossible for any motor that doesn't have a stroker crank, for the piston to hit the head, or gasket

No not a 240 kit. And yes Ken did build this motor for me but he did not assemble the top end. He rebuild the lower end and worked his magic with the top. I had called him a few weeks ago and he had me check a few things. I just finished a semester of school so I have been busy and havent talked to him since. As of now I am experiencing electrical problems so I cant get it to run. I may just need to take the motor out and bring it to Ken which he suggested I do. Just wanted to see if there was anything I could check so I dont have to rip the motor out again.

i'd pull the top end and cylinder to check you have the rings in correctly, one may have slipped out and be catching a port ???
i'd suggest not starting it until you resolve this issue

has it run? no oil in it from a fresh rebuild. its hasnt come up to temp yet and seated everything. that motor was just assm? so, give it a run and then lets hear it... make sure your gas/mix is good sh*t, no buy the cheap 2stroke oil, get some decent stuff, and get the oz right. 32:1 . Heat cycle it for sure!

I run good stuff. Maxima Super M pre mix oil. And Spectre Clutch Saver in the lower end. Im not running it anymore until I pull the topend and see whats goin on. I like your machine by the way mjgnslngr! Kinda like what I wanna do to mine.

dont go pullin sh*t apart, Run It and break it in before you go tuggin on bolts homie!!!

If you read his original post you would notice that it is making noise @ TDC when kicking it over. Why the FAWCK would you want him to start it?X(

For sh*ts and giggles do a squish test first, then pull head. If you find nothing then pull jug. Maybe roll it over while you have head off to see if it makes noise.

how bout he could post a vid of the noise? that would answer alot of questions. right?

oh, so You did the top end? speaking of noise, have you seen your Watch lately???

i didnt mean to bust chops man, really.

When you jiggle any motor over TDC and back there will be some noise as the crank changes direction, from up to down.

A little noise is normal, but if it sounds metallic or restistance is found, then it may pay to investigate.
