I just traded some things for a blaster and im not really sure what year it is but i have tried everything i know to do to get fire to my coil but still aint workin. i followed the red and black wire up to the box in the very front and figured since it was goin in it would have to come out but it didnt so what can i do to either bypass it or fix it or do what ever

umm it might be your tors. do you know if its removed or not? have you made sure all other connectors were connected(some might not need to be for certain reasons) but the ones that are connected, pull them apart 1 by one then put them back in and make sure there in good. i hope you know this guy you bought it off of, or did he say its gota be fixed? or did he lie and say it was something else?

He said it had to be fixed so I went the the local shop in town here and asked them, what usually goes bad in these to not make them fire and they told me its usually the charge coil so i put one on it and it still doesnt fire, so i went a lil further into the wiring and found wire that was cut in two and it went to the tors so i spliced it back in but still no fire. I also checked all my connections one by one they were all connected.

did you check your stator and or cdi? cuz i bought mine fo 500 from some d-bag who lied out his ass. the stator was a little faulty the cylinder head was sh*t( huuuge crack towards the inside..OH check for compression too usually all it takes is removing the spart plug and putting just enough of you finge in to block it up and have someone kick it over once ( or even do it yourself) theres also the carberator but yea you might wanna make sure hte tors wires are not hooked up if it has been removed

Id say disconnect the tors (3 connectors) and see what happens. It was my problem also. Does it still have the key switch by the bars? If not, the two wires are probably the ones that used to go the that switch. I cant remember if they are supposed to be connected or not, cause I redid my wiring and eliminated all unecessary wires and cleaned it up. You could try both ways. Also, sometimes, it may be hard to see the spark, what I do, as a quick check, is stick a screwdriver or other metal object into the spark plug boot (with it off of the plug) and hold the metal in my hand, and touch the chassis and slowly push the kickstarter by hand. Youll feel if it is putting out juice or not. Slowly is what I prefer, because if you push it fast, and its sparking, it will definetly wake you up!!!

or just hold the tip of the plug against some bare metal(like the chasis) and kick it. saves u some pain if u do blasterdudes way wrong. and that way if it does have spark, you can see if its sparking right. in my last case, that way wouldnt work cuz i saw spark but the spark wasnt going to the right place and it was a messed up spark. gota see it, not feel it. simple as that.

Seeing is best, and I do that as well, but when your by yourself, it is hard to hold the plug against a ground and kick the starter, while not jerking the bike and yourself too much so you cant see the spark, unless it is very dark were you are testing. I like to do the feel method until I feel something, and then do the see method. That way, its quick and easy, to test many times of disconnecting, reconnecting wires, changing coils, etc. I also have a couple small "spark checker tools" but they are sometimes inconvient as no were close enough to clamp it to a good ground that is also visible while kicking the starter. Once you do get spark, you want it to be a bright blue spark, if it is yellow or orange, it probably isn't hot enough to ignite properly, especially for startup.

Well today i did a lil checkin and i was gonna ask one of yall how common is it for the cdi box to be faulty and if the tors could actually keep it from getting fire to the coil

and how can i check the stator to see if its faulty. Oh and if anybody's got a Service manual in a pdf file and i do appreciate yalls help on this
