hey guys I'm new to the blaster I just picked one up, and it's not getting any spark, it's got a new coil, all the wireing is good, took apart all the conectors and grounds and cleaned them up, removed parking brake sensor and the T.O.R.S bypassed the ignitor switch. I tested the stator and the red and black wire is .225 ohms red and yellow is 216 ohms when kicked .05 without being kicked red and white is 19.1 with and without being kicked.... How are them stator readings and if there good, what could be my problem??:-/

The year im not sure but its around mid 90s and the ing switch i just un hooked them from the key and twisted them together. The tors i unhooked the switch in the thumb throtle and un pluged it from the carb and unpluged the little black box under the nose cone. What do you think about the stator readings. Thanks in advance for any advice givin cause I dont have a clue.

You seemed to have covered alot of the troubleshooting.
I say check the spark plug wire. If you have the extra length unscrew the boot cut it back 1/4" and screw the boot back on.
Theres an outside chance the wire to boot contact is corroded.

Thanks I will try these steps tomorrow. I also noticed that the oil injection was not hooked up am i supposed to bypass the wires or anything and what should i test the cdi with can i use a test light or do i need something else. Thanks agin guys all help is apperciated.

To the best of my knowledge CDIs cannot be tested, only way is use a "known" good one. If it has spark then original was bad. Check ALL connections are clean and tite. Make sure ALL grounds are clean (bare metal) and tite. This includes coil mount. I have used a Dremal with small diamond bit to clean female butt connectors. Use di-electric grease on connections. Not sure on twisting switch wires together, try unhooking them for sh*ts and giggles.

sorryI don't know the correct readings from the coil but if you get a change when it's kicked over, that's a good thing!!

Which wires at the key switch did you twist together?? All I know is that if you pull the black wire off of the key switch, you don't need to use the key to start it.....

The key wires are black and black with a white stripe. Wher do i pull the wire out to get rid of the key start. And I dont have a spare cdi so should i just buy on to test. Im willing to try anything at this point and i have cleand all connections and sanded all grounds. Am i supposed to just bypass the tors or just remove it all. Thanks agin

If im understanding you correctly you are saying u have unplugged the key and twisted those two wires together. If so thats the prob. Untwist them to where neither wire connects to anything and see if you have spark then.

Both of the kill switches (off/run and off/on) are ground to kill signal. Meaning if by default the OFF setting on them both completes the circuit and grounds out the electrical system so it doesnt start. Twisting the wires together WILL keep spark from happening. Leave them both open.

Troubleshooting no spark is easy. First connect a DMM to the stator feed wire and kick it. You should have 7-12 volts there. If you do, connect DMM to the orange coil wire and kick it, same thing. Should have 7-12 volts there.

A nifty trick is the stator has 2 sides. One side for the headlight circuit and one for the ignition circuit. One can be dead and the other alive. If youre getting no volts on the one side, check the other. If it has volts, switch the wire and retest at the coil.

Which one is the feed wire? And how do I test the stator coils?

Thanks alot guys for the help. That was the problem i un twisted the wires and i had spark stupid me. You guys saved me money and a huge headach.
