Went out riding with the little ones the other day. The machine was running fine, just putting along in second just off idle. I went to go ahead to check the trail and when I hit the throttle it fell on its face. No power at all. It wouldnt idle or anything. I managed to make it home, if you could get the rpms up you could maintain but if you let them drop you were screwed. Put in a different plug but no luck. I have not had to check anything on this cause it has always been faithful. (unlike a couple women I know) Could I have sucked something up in the carb? I am getting about 125lbs on compression. That should be enough to run I would think. I am a diesel guy though so I could be wrong.

125 psi is indeed fine
i'd be looking at removing the tors, and pulling the carb for a good cleaning and checking for a cracked busted reed while you have the carb off

click the link at the bottom of my sig \/\/ for troubleshooting and links

btw...welcome to BF !

/\ /\ /\ /\ and if that all seems fine, do the following which should be done to a 2 stroke at least twice a season.

A good carb cleaning would be where i'd start, sounds like a partially clogged pilot jet.
completely tear it down being careful not to loose the washer that goes under the main jet.) spray it clean used compressed air to blow dry, I also use a wire to clean the small pilot orfices! Then set the float to the proper level, put air screw at 1.5 turns from fully in.

Thanks guys. I pulled the tors off as soon as I got it. As soon as things calm down around here I am gonna pull the carb off. I have 7 cord of firewood to stack before I get to play with the toys. Also have to build a new ice house before the lake freezes. Maybe I can bring it to work and do it there. Might as well get paid for it.
