no packing in silencer?

Before all this stuff happened with the clutch i was riding and the packing for my silencer started to fly out and then eventually got clogged.... In turn i ripped it all out because i figured if the air couldn't come out that had to be real bad..... now the bike is super loud and i am noticing a lot more oil in the silencer is this normal and will the no packing mess anything up.... seemed to be running better after i pulled it all out...... figured it like a straight pipe now basically..

if i rember rightit will loose a slight bit of power... noticing more oil is normal since there is no packing to soak up the oil... i have always ran my silencers half packed.. i like them louder.. yes it might lose a hp or 2 but im ok with that

sounds good loosing a couple hp for now is ok when i get some money together i can worry about getting it back..... thanks for the info as long as the oil is normal i'm cooll with the noise

yeah the oil is normal, like i said theres just no packing to soak it up.. look at old packing its normally a oily goo'ie mess .. if you watch the vids i posted of my 82 250r thats half packed... i ran my blaster half packed also

Use fiberglass insolation, From what i heard it works okay. And when you get the money hit up rocky mountain or something

you can buy a little bag of frost king insulation at home depot(i think in plumbing section) it's a long roll about 17-20 inches long and it will repack the silencer about 3-4 times and 6-8 times if you want to half pack all for arout $4
