Hello guys, I just got a free 2000 blaster. I was told it has no spark. I went through most all of the ignition system, but it is not in stock shape.(Key switch gone, on off switch disconnected). I cannot get any spark to gap the plug through a boot, however, if I jam my thumb on the spark plug wire with no boot on it, i can feel a very weak pulse. It does send a pulse but it is quite weak. I put a new stator on it. Same problem. Weak out of the wire off the coil, it can barely ark to the head if I hold it incredibley close. I used a multimeter to see what kind of power I have coming out of where when I kick it over. I have current coming out of the stator and out of one of those black boxes up front. Not sure what it is, cdi? But, do these things have rectifiers? I notice 3 black boxes up front. The wiring is a mess on this thing, it has a rats nest of loose wires from where there used to be a key switch and the on off switch and light switch. Can anyone show me how to bypass all of that properly? I have a new stator, and I am wondering if I should try to find an entire used wiring harness with the boxes and coil. Does anyone have something like that for sale? I'll post something in wanted. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. As of now it isn't no spark, its just weak spark. So weak that it cannot jump through a boot and plug, only out of the plug wire. Thanks so much for any help fellas. Sincerely, Charlie
