What's up guys/girls? I'm Steve and I just bought a 98 Blasty on thurs for 600 bucks.... She runs ok, just needs a bunch of misc. parts. It's my first legit quad. I've had a bunch of ATC's over the years and been riding MX since I was 10 so I'm no stranger to machines.

So I ordered a ton of new parts yesterday including Controls, Cables, TRE's, A-Arm Bushings/Seals, Clutch Cover Gasket (Leaking homeade one), Swing Arm Pin (Nut missing and treads badly damaged), Rear Brake Caliper/Pads/Cable/Return Spring/Pin (Missing), Body and Frame Hardware (Missing), and Axle Brake Rotor Spline Covers/Clips.

Went to the shop and bought new tires front and rear (non-balloon), FMF Fatty Pipe, Turbinecore II, Handlebars and grips.

I also started stripping the paint off the plastics and prepping for paint.

I'm sure I'll end up needing more crap for it when I tear it down for paint next week while I'm waiting on my parts to arrive, but I'll deal with that then. I just wanted to order the obvious parts that it needed immediately.

Welcome
Looks like your off to a good start. Didn't take you long to catch the Mod bug :)
Are you going to post a full rebuild on this one? Always like to follow along as you progress through your build.
Keep us posted.

LOL dont forget to order a seat LMAO a honda seat on a blasty

Yeah I saw that too:-/...It's just the seat cover on the original seat foam. I'll Probably just throw some stickers over it....

And I will be posting a build up on it. I know it needs new crank seals too as it smokes quite a bit.

Also, It has a new carb that the PO put on it but it certianly isn't tuned very well and it makes me wonder if it's even the right size or has the correct jetting. The dude said it was overbored and ported but that it was done by the guy he bought it from 2 years ago and doesnt know any specs on it. I guess I'll have to take the head off and measure the cylinder to know for sure. What is the cylinder bore size? So I can jet the thing accordingly
