Hello folks, my name is Lyndle. I live in Northeast colorado... in the Plains. I am very new to 2 strokes and Blasters in general. 2 weeks ago I scooped up 2x 2001 Blasters. One for the Mrs. and one for me. They both run great and are tons of fun to ride. I joined this wealth of information to help me maintain and one day mod my Blasters. I look forward to getting to know you folks and learn as much as I can.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

My first newbie question for you folks... I ordered new tires for the rear of both Blasters, 22x11x8, they aren't going to fit are they? What are my options if they don't fit?

New tires showed up yesterday. I'm hoping these will help tame first gear a bit.

Can you direct me to a video or link to directions for adjusting the tension of the chain, please.

you can download the manual for free here: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads...ervice-and-owner-manuals-free-download.17325/
you'll find this adjustment, chain slack specs, a ton of good info and maintenence

you're almost out of adjustment, as I only see 2-3 threads left on the adjuster bolts, with a new chain and sprockets, (which should be bought together as a set) there's usually about 1-1/2" of adjustment bolt showing.

heres a quick rundown of the procedure:

loosen the 2 14mm carrier nuts
loosen the 2 12mm adjuster bolt jamb nuts
tighten 10mm adjuster bolts in to pull carrier back and tighten chain. they need to be kept even.
tighten jamb nuts and carrier bolts to lock it in place

So I took your guys advice and tightened up the tension on my chain. It was an easy fix but clearly I need to get a chain and sprocket set. I only have 3/8 of an inch left of adjustment on the tensioners.
