My first problem !
I´m running 25:1 full syntetic oil and its the second time i´ve melted the piston...
First piston was original yamaha (rings gave up)
Second piston wiseco +5hp piston ... ran it for 600 miles and "melted down".
Any ideas if i oil ratio is correct?

I´m pretty new at atv riding, only 6 months, this is my first Blaster and i´m having a Blast..... any coments or sugestion are well apreciated.

Thank you all

Wiseco.
BTW a piston skirt braking on the intake side is usually a sign of incorrect jetting, or to much piston slap. So check your cylinder bore, my need to go up a bore even if its not scratched. It could be ovalled. Also a 290 is probably way to big for a stock pipe. With just reeds, you shouldn't be running more than a 250 max.

Thank you

Thank you for your post, i´m going to do all that, makes perfect sense cause i´m using the 290 with the needle in its lowest posicion (clip all the way up).

Your needle might be to lean and your compinsating with a bigger main, not the best way to run a motor. Also get a regular piston, not the one thats notched. Get the cylinder measured first before buying a piston and determine which size you'll need.
