92 Lt250R not sure where to start, can't see the steering stabilizer in the pix lol. aftermarket axle, works shocks resi front and back, cool head, fmf pipe, keihin carb, maier plastics, ac bumper, renthal bars, razrs front and back, ac grab bar, nerfs ect... dude says it won't kick start, it needs to be towed/poped then it revs out and after it drops it rides normally and when warmed up can kick start. $700... sold my sons LT80 and a bunch of parts with it, then sold a bunch of my old 660 parts and basically didn't have to outta pocket anything. 1st thing old owner tried was plug, then new gas, I JUST put new gas in with the ez start stuff, he also said lots of smoke comes out when it does start.

hoping to check the reeds tonight maybe change the plug anyway and clean the carb/jets mainly, I also got starting fluid to shoot in the carb... will update soon, going to my buddies stereo shop to see if they're around LOL. wifey gets to make vids and take pix of me riding it LMFAO

has carbon fiber reeds, guessing a v-force cage lol, when I pulled the carb to clean it I looked into the intake and could see the v placed carbon fiber reeds... so reeds aren't cracked, changed the plug, cleaned jets and added brake fluid and made sure the brakes somewhat worked, checked spark was good, checked fuel flow and it was flowing out of the tank and into the bowl and jets weren't clogged after I sprayed them out, there was some water in the fuel in the bowl and it was dirty so I cleaned the bowl out, then poured some fuel from the line into a water bottle and it looked ok, so I lit it on fire and it was definitely flamable, so I put it back together and noticed the choke on the carb was busted so it pulls completely out the piece that's screwed in is still in there so it broke off at the top of the threads, carb says PWK on the side where it meets the bowl and the bowl had like a 72something or another, my buddy said it was a 38mm airstryker by the sound of it, but he wasn't there to look at it, he told me write down the serial and look on the net.

long story short I did get it to kick over and rode it around 1st and 2nd. so it does run, like crap but it ran lol. motor used to be polished I believe as under all the crud it looks reflective and I used a rag and some of the spilling fuel out of the carb and cleaned off a nice little section and it looks polished lol

will update when I get it running better with a vid :D

sweet, what'cha gonna do now when the wifey is smokin you !!!!!

nice, dude. i have always wanted an lt to play with. can't find any around here though.

thats nice. i wanted to buy a quadracer before i got my blaster but couldnt find one for a good deal. those go easy 1500+ aroud here

I just won't get too close before she starts it :D I:I

you must be joking LOL, you ride a modded ltr450 before? I'm fairly sure I could kill my buddies banshee, I know offroad they'd have one hell of a time catching me on anything but a straight smooth street. that thing rides super smooth and it's VERY fast. this needs shocks fully rebuilt, a Q pipe, porting, rasied compression with race gas and probably a different carb if this one isn't an airstryker a 38mm a/s.. THEN it should probably smoke me with more than just a cloud of smoke. til then, I seriously doubt it LOL. plus she rides everything like it's a utility quad on one a them pay for trail rides lol

I couldn't even find a blaster not running for this much LOL. my buddy saw the lt250r I was GONNA get and then brought this one up lol and he's a good friend, so he got his buddies to sell it to me since it was rotting away anyway...

brakes need a full purge, I'm sure even the lines are gummed up, master cyls, I need to take it fully apart, and it's missing bolts for everything I touched. rear brake caliper is missing one bolt for the pad so it's half way hanging out at an angle lmfao.

case saver had one bold missing and the other so loose I removed the case saver by hand no wrenches... rear fender has 2 bolts, one is a standard bolt with a nut holding it, seat latch is gonners, kick start flaps like a bird wing in the wind. every cable probably needs to be replaced. clutch pull is super hard so maybe after I get the brakes going and the bike so it actually can ride more than 100yards from my truck I can go long enough to get the rust off everything in there and change the oil lol

the steering has play left to right, not alot but it's there, so bushings, bearings and balljoints need to be looked at. rear brake rotor and caliper have play on the axle. shocks need full rebuild. exhaust hoses need to be replaced, basically it needs a thourough rebuild... slowly it will be nicer :D

closest thing I've found (all running bikes are expensive here I see blasters stock and rust buckets for $2,000+ even see some at 3gs lol STOCK and not like new) so this kinda deal isn't just run of the mil here either lol bikes than need full restoration can be had for affordable that's about it..

hell, this one is on CL for $600

lol, my buddy has a basket case blaster that needs a top end and side cases and he wanted close to this for it I'm pretty sure lol, I told him I was gonna hold off for a 250, super glad I did! that was last week lol

lt250r will be faster than you think

from a dead stock my nephews ds450x puts about 3-4 quad lenghts on me tell i get traction ( on ice) and i stay even with him after thaat,

on a roll i have out ran a 450r and a rappy 660, and all that done to mine is a filter, no lid, and asilencer, and re geared,

dont waste your time on a Q pipe... aaen makes almost the same power asa q and only 215? $!!!!

ltrs can spank piped yfzs with a cherry bomb, lid removed and spark arrestor out, a 450r is probably better compared to the z400... honda's 450r is reliable, they're like civics since everyone owns one there is more aftermarket support and parts are cheaper. that's all I see good about the 450r... you comparing a 250rs power and speed to a ltr450 is like me comparing my 450s power to a zillas imo... top speed stock on an ltr450 has been clockd via gps over 80mph, how fast does a stock 250r go? how fast does it get there. I'm not saying it's not a fast quad, it's really fast, and it's capable of beating some 450s but make no mistake on which 450s it will beat. you think it'll take a ktm 450sx? go look at the dyno comparisons the ktm isn't much further than the ltr450 in peak and when you add more air and an intake cam the zuki gets MUCH better bottom end and more top end. ported for ported, big bore for big bore the 450 will just keep pulling away, there's a few guys doing pump gas 60+whp on the 450s for pretty cheap. there's a few with race gas that're more there's even a few that run sizeable nos shots. when people tell me they beat this or that locally, I say, well, lets line up. usually they just drop it. I'm sure you're not one of them, but you can get an idea of how my modded intake gains for HP from this dyno :D

51HP and 35TQ for $250 total on Suzuki LTR450 - LT-R450Central

apples to apples ;) I have a cherry bomb, 08 header/exhaust (1.5whp dyno proven over smaller diameter head sub 08 exhaust) a bench flow tested modified airbox that flows twice the rate of stock (bought it on ebay actually) a large UNI filter and a trick suspension setup, CCP stabilizer and antivibe bar clamp all help me float thru stuff faster than I could go thru stock pushing myself out of my comfort zone. a stock ltr450 will imo out handle a highly modded lt250r, there's just no way around it... my 250r has a stabilizer and is widened and has shocks, and it has the tie rod flip mod ect and I didn't feel it had comparable handling to my 450 even on the street 250vs 450 mild off road lol

is it fast, yeah, like a slightly toned down shee with better suspension LOL. is it faster than my 450 off road no way in HELL at least not my two bikes. a better 250 with a full JB frame with 250r geometry and long travel ect, yeah, it better be but I still don't think it would have the 50+whp... not as a mildly build machine it won't at least imo...

ah dunno man, seems kinda hard. If the 250r is faster I will sell the 450 and do something custom (suspension geometry) with the 250r as I'd really rather work on a 250r anyway LOL just don't see how it would do better. like I said, it doesn't have the power, nor speed and it can't handle off road terrain as well. so it's just not happening imo you're comparing a 1992 ford f150 to a 2010 ford SVT raptor LOL

my 450 smoked my 660, thus getting rid of the 660, both were modded, the 450 straight up did better hp

all i have to say is i have a buddy with a ltr450 that has cherry bomd exhaust, big gun rev limiter, and intake. another guy i know has a completely bone stock yfz450. the guy that rides the ltr is like 160lbs tops and the guy that rides the yfz is about 350 or so. well they raced and the yfz keeps up right beside the ltr. just saying the yfz450 bone stock with a heavy rider is side by side with the tricked out ltr. so if i was gonna get a 450 i would get the yfz.

dyno's don't lie man...

ATV On Demand | Video Featured List

neither do the racers times... see for yourself those are PRO riders. the 450 shootout, all are modded the dyno's after mods were

LTR - 403 lbs - 50.30hp
Polaris - 386 lbs - 48.11hp
Can-Am - 379 lbs - 45.77hp
KTM - 372 lbs - 51.33hp
Yamaha - 379 lbs - 47.48hp

about 3hp less, and they all pretty much said the yfz had better suspension ect, but their lap times don't lie just like the dyno's LOL. grain of salt stuff really tho.

do you also think a 250r does 48-50whp?

side note, wtf 39mm carb do I have

PWK 72RA3 LD

my buddy said it's a 38mm airstryker is what he thinks... sounds like a 39mm pwk to me LOL not that I know the difference.. I think I want an airstryker tho from what I've read.

the lt250r is also much lighter than the newer 450s, im not sayin it will our run your 450 was just stating there faster than most think. they were faster straight line than the honda 250r but didnt have the handeling and reliability the hondas had,

by todays standards the lt250r is still a very capable machine, and with a few bolt ons will outrun alot of new quads,

iv owned alot of machines, and the only one that was all around better and maybe/maybe not more enjoyable was my 03 400ex with 426 kit, cam, pipe, air box, +2 jannsen outlaw arms tcs shocks +4 axle, and anti vib bar rsers, thrill factor is a big thing with me and i stil get excited when i hitt eh pipe on the lt

dont get me wrong if i could or wanted to buy new id get a ltr450 or a yfz since the ktm/polaris 450mx is out of line on price

ltrs can spank piped yfzs with a cherry bomb, lid removed and spark arrestor out
i had to laugh at that my yfz stock apart from cams and 1.4 stroker(smallest stroker ) smoked ltr with a 3.7 stroker with yoshi exhaust the ltr had a small bit more top but i got away so fast it diddnt matter i drove the ltr which i must say is a much nicer quad to drive but diddnt feel as fast ( i know efi feels smoother)

didn't look at it super good when I picked it up. shocks are all not pressurized so could be blown LOL

cases appear to be leaking oil in the center case :( so I guess I have to do a FULL rebuild on this thing lol. I suppose in the process I'll try to get +2+1 arms and use my stock 450 take offs when my TCS shocks come in one day lol. my buddy put a TCS conversion rear on his z400 so maybe I can get his stocker too lol.

I'm gonna try to use his PJ 35 choke lever to replace mine this weekend as well as shoot out the brake lines calipers and master cyls and try to get the brakes functional and the bike running better lol

pix of oil leakage...

IMAG0194.jpg

now I see why he said to add oil before attempting to start it LOL

oh well, I think I'll try to run it like this for a while prior to cracking the block :(

fed, I was just messin with ya, IF the bike does somehow give me more entertainment than my 450 I have no problem getting rid of my 450 :D I really want to build it to beat my 450, but I don't know if it's possible. I'll look into an aaen pipe as well, thanks for the advice :D

the only down fall to the lts motor/trans is the trans i guess over 50 hp they tend to break shift forks, mine leaks oil where the clutch cover meets the case, some past owner over torqued the clutch cover bolts and custed the thread hole out on the bottom so mine leaks oil.... it changes its own oil every week hahahaha

still not sure how I'm going to get it out.. the intake mani is ported and polished (it's a metal one)

pic of carb choke lever broken.. still unsure how to best get it out. thinking glob JB weld in there put it back together then unscrew it like regular LOL
