I re-built a motor from empty cases. Port polish fresh bore and hone and head mod from KOR. Stock exhaust, stock everything else. I broke motor in a a few days ago then went on first real ride. After riding it a bit and getting comfortable with everything and all I hopped on the highway to give it a rip and it ripped through all gears catching up to a car doing speed limit of 55 then shifted into sixth to wrap it out real quick and it bogs in that gear. I don't know weather to change jets, air filter exhaust. Or all of the above and info would be appreciated thanks. I'm riding in Alaska temps 20-30

you didn't do wide open throttle plug chops to confirm main jetting before taking it out onto piston frying highway runs ?

guaranteed your gonna fry your shiz if you keep running 55+ mph down highways for long periods, unless your way over jetted rich and geared for top mph < both of those will cause it to suck in the trails where blasters belong and shine.

One time down straightaway less than eight mile. I live in a town of 500 in Alaska our highways are not real ones. I'm not running long at all on road. I learned that with my first blaster going 30 miles on road fried it right at the end when i got to the beach. That was ten years ago.

230 main is too lean for your mods in those temps
you'll be lucky if you didn't already damage the piston/cylinder.

for a stock pipe, with KOR mods, in those temps, I'd buy 240/250/260 mains, start large and plug chop down.
if the temps drop further, you must richen the main jetting to compensate.

the airscrew and needle clip setting may need adjusting too.

my rule of thumb in cold weather is to jet it right below it fouling plugs, to be safe for temp drops.
save the "close to perfect" jetting for warmer months

If you feel the need to run it with wide open throttle for a long period, you must run a heavier oil ratio, 25:1 or better and jet slightly on the rich side.

Ok thanks. What's considered a long run in you guys opinion. I just got jets in mail I have 240-320 what should I start with 260?

that 260 should be safe to do a plug chop run, nothing else until you read the plugs smoke ring and see where you're at.

Ha knowing my luck ill have to send another cylinder and head of to KOR.

lets not allow luck to have any say in this :)
do the plug chops exactly as directed in the DIY thread, and report back with your results, or post pics of the plugs smoke rings and we'll help you get it right, no luck needed.

pics are a little small to see, I see cardboard color, but like it a little darker, especially in the changing temps this time of year.
what did the pull feel like ? strong the whole way up ?
maybe jump up one more size, plug chop again and feel if it still pulls strong
