New guy here, just bought an 01 Blaster from a friend for $200. I was told there was some assembly required, but I was under the impression the engine was still in the frame. However, it is sitting in a tote sans the piston, carb, shift lever, and kick start lever. She said everything was there, but she talked to her husband, and he found some more parts. Shes supposed to bring those to me tomorrow. I hope there isnt too much I have to acquire.

Welcome. Hopefully You have most to all of your needed parts! Your at the right place to find answers you might have on your rebuild. :)
Fred

dont worry we al lcan help you in assembling that baby

Welcome, with a Web wrench at the ready.

Thanks! The downloadable manual and parts diagrams are already helping.

I really liked the engine stand idea. I don't have a garage right now, so I'm probably going to work on the engine inside. At least until I get all the parts together. Ill post pics later of my own engine stand I'm working on today.

Here is the stand I built today. I made it adjustable in case I want to tinker with another engine later on. I forgot to get bolts though...

Well, she was supposed to drop off the parts before noon. I'm starting to think I'm not going to get them. She's not responding to my texts... :/

I have a carb, Black hood, and an airbox lid. Your best bet for a piston is to get the Cylinder measured, see if its in spec. If it isnt, let the shop get it for you and have them match the bore to the piston.
