New member from NC, need help also

Hey wassup, any other NC members? I picked up a 04 blaster last night that wouldn't rev up, only idle and turns out it had a broke wire for the tors so it was a quick fix and good buy for me since the guy that sold it was tired of trying to figure out what was wrong.

Anyways I need to know what's up with a switch that looks to like it's supposed to go in the left clutch lever and was tucked under the plastic. It is a push button switch and I see where it should push into a hole in the clutch lever. I suspect that maybe it's part of a choke lever??? Any ways the switch was taped tightly with the button depressed, and that's the only way the quasd will run. In other words when I took the tape off it would only idle. So what's up with this switch?

PS this is my 3rd blaster and I also had a moderatly built 400ex, but the blasters are sure fun to ride. this one will list the front wheels in 2nd which surprised me!

Thats a safety switch that won't allow the engine to rev when the parking brakes engaged. Unplug it. The plug ins under the front hood

That makes sene, thanks! weird that when idling if you press the switch it speeds up, and when you let it go it slows down, I couldn't figure out what was up with that. Anyways, now I know!

Hey Nathan I see in your signature 2+ timing mod, is it worth it? Looks pretty simple from what I remember, don't you just slot the stator plate bolt holes like 3mm or something? So did you see much of a difference?
