Hey all, I am currently looking at a 1998 Yamaha Blaster that was listed in a local paper... Aparently it has about $2000 put into the motor (been bored ported and polished) (and i have seen all the papers on the parts) but it was insanely loud (my dad said he could hear me and i was easily 3/4 of a mile away and i ended up getting pulled over by a cop on the way back to the guys house :(.... )... i was wondering if what kind of pipe you guys recomended for trail riding because i could not see riding all day with it that loud (my ears are still ringing an hour later)... also the front right tire leans off camber alittle i was wondering if this was for racing reasons or if something is wrong i didnt seen any broken bushings and it looks like its in the a- arms or something because the wheel isnt loose at all.... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

no not off of the top of my head i believe pro circuit was the name.... i do remeber that there wasnt a spark arrestor in the pipe tho dunno if that would make much difference in sound.. but the right wheel being so off camber is what scares me because it would wear tires terribly (the tires on it already had a bad wear pattern)

do not worrie about that right wheel,,, Best guess is that it has a bent spindle i probly got one laying around if not one of these guys dose im sure and shouldnt probly cost more than $20 bucks to your door and an hour mabey 2 pending your mechanical skill,, nothing on a blaster is much to worrie about and long as she runs good.... look for odd things like welds on the frame or motor that are not factory,,, i would give the frame a lookover to make sure its str8 and mabey throw a compression guage on it any thing over 120 is good. being the motor work done I'd like to see upwards of 160 psi... as for the pipe not really a big deal you can definatly quite it up some if you want to go cheep you can pick up a stocker for basicly beans and they are real quite or some sort of spark arrestor silencer will help however 2 strokes tend to be louder and to quite it down you will sacrifice performance.... I would also probly give her a good shake down in the rear end also up and down and side to side and when yur on it with it off do some jiving that will tell you with you need mainly carrier bearings and mabey and idea on swingarm bearing if the machine is loose at all I would reflect all of that back on the price. carrier bearing go out "known for it" and can be fixed however not usually in an hour. any way glad to have ya and people are always glad to help here just find the section that best fits yur situation and lay it on us....
