well I'm from north dakota, bought bought a 98 blaster for 150 and it ran, then the mods started to pile on, first off put a new hood on, and seat didn't have have a hood and sear was all chewed up when I got it, then bought and used DG pipe off ebay and it and ready had the DG silencer, got and ready dyno jet jet kit and used the 340 jet supposed "stage 2" since the pipe and air box lid and ready off, took gear off oil pump and mix it 32:1, and put vforce-4 reeds in, just ordered fly handlebars, and waiting on the grips and I'll be where I want with it till I get something different or blow it up

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info and members here.

If you are open to suggestions and you haven't done so already, look over it well, do a compresion test, leakdown test it, and Do a plug chop to check your jetting.

Not being pushy, just want you to get the most out of your Blaster.

Welcome!

Another thing, throw away the "jet kit" you bought, the only jets to be used are genuine mikuni jets (others dont match specs). And you definitely dont need a 340!
280-310 would be a good size jet for you

Where at in ND? I will be moving to Dickinson area this spring/summer

I live in jamestown, east of bismarck, and there was nothing in the kit below a 340 for the stage 2 would like a 280 I think and it would be fine, otherwise for now it's staying in and it runs pretty good right now

another thing with jetting, rather be to rich than too lean IMO

Too much over rich causes the motor to run under temperature and can cause problems.

Carbon build up in the exhaust port, pipe and muffler will eventually cause restrictive blockages.

The internal temperature will not be great enough to allow the spark plug to self clean and you may experience plug fouling.

The engine temperature may never get to optimum therefore excessive component wear may be experienced.

Being too rich can be detrimental.
