new from indiana and my quad broke...help

i have a 99 blastey and my clutch driven gear is loose from the clutch basket. should i drill the rivets out and replace them with bolts? and do i have to replace the rubber groments. not sure if its suposed to have much play or not?

mine was the same way, i ended up putting a billet PE basket in because the fingers were grooved up bad. i just turned the little rubber pieces so it was tight again

you cannot tighten that up. you will either need to drill out the rivets and get an aftermaket basket which will bolt on to the gear or get a new oem basket/gear assembly.

so i can keep my oem basket and just get some bolts?

or are the stock rivets tapered so bolts wont work with stock basket?

its tapered. i'd just look for a good basket, if you're going to be riding really hard, get a billet basket

if the play isn't really bad, you could probably limp it through the weekend. when i took my basket to the local shop he told me if it was his bike he'd still run it.
