I just traded for a blaster, It needs a wire harness and ignition coil and kill/light switch. I was told that it is a 2004 although the only serial number I can find is on the motor and it was (3JM-006630) to me it looks like a 2000. I am just wondering if I get a harness for an 04 will it fit if it is a older model? Also this blaster has drums in the front and a manually operated rear brake (if that helps with figuring out the year).

The VIN number is on the bottom right of the frame. In front of the foot peg.

thats for the tip but i dont see any vin at all. I traded my late 80's quad runner 125. But its really looking like i got ripped off, I took a the crank cover off and there was not a drop of oil.
If your Blaster has drums in the front and the mechanical cable brakes in the rear, you got dupped. Definately a pre 03 model. The VIN # is on the shifter side on the lower frame rail under the quad.

Yes sorry the clutch cover, (on the right side) had no oil, not even a gasket. It has the drum brakes so it is pre 03, so i guess i sould order pre 03 parts? As for a vin it is not there, maybe it has been scratched off but i cant find a thing
It is definately in a bad place. Can be scratched off if you ride over allot of rocks and rough terrain. One of my Blasters had been painted so much the stamped letters filled in. If you are curious as to the year some light sanding with 220 grit just to take the paint off my reveal the VIN#.
