I bought a 2001 Blaster for my girlfriend. She really likes the quad but its ridding way to rough for her. We went down to Pismo this last week and it just beat the living hell out of her. She only weighs 113 pounds but even with me "165 pounds" its still pretty rough. I had the front tires down to 2 psi and the rear paddles at 8 psi. The front shocks are set on the lowest setting but didn't seem to change much. I was wondering if there is a spring set that is much softer than the stock. Honestly the softer the better for her. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Thanks for the help.

take the back tires down to 3. can you fab??? get a hi-flite desert seat, and drill some big holes in the bottom of the foam, it will get real cushy. If you can get a 250r shock and fab a bracket like this (as long as she is not skying/racing it) it will me marshmellow soft with a lot of travel. htose couple of things will make a night and day difference and should cost under $150 bucks. if you need specifics, pm me... but I gaurentee if you make those changes to the rear she will love you long time!

I can fab no problem. What is a 250R? Is it a quad made by Yamaha or a dirt bike? Because my dirt bike is a Honda crf 250R.

Do they make a coil spring for the front and rear shocks that don't take as much load to compress? If I added wheel spacers would that help as its now giving the suspension less mechanical advantage up front?

Thanks for the help so far!

We are going to need pictures of this girlfriend, so we can properly design a suspension setup.

Ill start looking around for shocks. Think the 250r rear shock with banshee front shocks would be a good start?

Here is a pic from her first trip out on her Blaster. She was in love with her new fox pink/white/black gear.

good lookin blasty, and good lookin girl too!

the banshee shocks on the front and 250r shock in the rear should be a great start out for you

Sweet! Ill start looking for the shocks on ebay and see what I can get. Does anyone have any pics of the fab work its going to take to mount the rear shock? Ill pm phragle to get some help as well. Will the Banshee front shocks bolt right up or will the suspension need to be modded? Thanks a bunch for all the help! Now all I need to find are white plastics and a way to make the clutch easier to pull as she is having a hard time. Maybe weaker clutch springs???

a magura hydraulic clutch would be the BEST way to do that, otherwise an "easy-pull" lever would be another way to go. if you go with weaker clutch springs, you may run into troubles with clutch slippage.

the banshee fronts bolt right on

to put the 250r shock on, you can just narrow up the top mount a little bit with a grinder, and then it goes right on, but if you spend a little bit of time and fab skills, you can optimize the rear suspension geometry and probably get 12 inches of travel....that should set her up pretty well

damn shes fit well done my friend !! I:I

if you have money to spend, you can always get some elkas set up for her weight. would be way better than anything else, but will also rape your wallet.
those with some wider a-arms will make so a soft ride.
