need some help

I bought a 2002 blaster about a month ago and the kick start doesn't grab everytime you have to take it all the way down and let it slam back what could be the problem

Bad spring, on the stater gear, or the spring tab came out of it's perch

Is it pretty easy to fix

gonna have to tear the clutch cover off to see whats going on in there, like slick said, could be as simple as resetting the return spring into it's retaining hole, or worse...a busted spring floating around in there, getting ready to cause more damage
i'd get it fixed asap

welcome to the Site , Nice place to live I bet your Close To Red Bud ! , My Nephew Races there from time to time , Good luck with the fix , Ive seen those springs do some damage to a clutch basket !
