Ok here's the deal.

I am about 90% finished with my current build / restore project. Installed the engine and fired it up. That didn't go to well. Long story short. My lower rod bearing is TOAST X(
Can you guys school me on crank options. What are the benefits & modifications required for 4 mil cranks.

Thanks,
Troy

the stroker cranks will add HP and TQ but the 4mm will require case and head mods to work. also, to get the most power out of any stroker you need to have the cylinder ported for the additional stroke. you could go with a vitos 3mm stroker which 99% of the time will drop right in with no case mods needed..and if anything you might have to clearence the cases a little at the top which most people can do themselves. the 3mm comes with a spacer to work without having to cut the head. the 4mm will either need the head machined or a custom spacer made to go under the cylinder.

Go with the 3 mill and get the head cut. The spacer allows and extra spot for a potential air leak... No mods needed to the case, just the head.

hey troy! bring that motor by my house and i have all the tools we need to get it tore down and put back together. you got my number..
the 3mil is probobly your better option and unless your getting the cylinder ported the spacer plate isnt necesarally a bad option. let me know when your ready. order the crank and some crank bearings with seals and we can get started!

Thanks for the offer but I cracked that baby last night. I had a feeling this was going to happen. The bearing looked a little sloppy but I pushed through the build & took the chance. I bought this bike not running. ( had no spark) so It's the chance you take. Any way I would like to use your handy dandy leakdown test kit & maybe your experience when I get ready to reassemble. Can you shoot me your phone number again.

Thanks,
Troy
