i have a 2000 blaster and i was ridin today and the clutch started actin weird then finally it got to where in neutral it will run with the clutch in but dies when you let it out, and it wont even kick over unless you pull the clutch. so can anyone tell me if its just the clutch or somethin more serious

Well, the first step would be to check the transmission fluid level. If you suspect that the transmission fluid level isn't right, drain the transmission (the drain bolt on the bottom of the case) and see what comes out.

If the transmission fluid is full and clean then you will probably be pulling the clutch cover off and removing the clutch.

If you look in the "general support" section of this forum, there is a downloadable service manual that will step you through the process.

From the sound of things, the pushrod locknut back off and your clutch is wildly out of adjustment. The easiest way to check is to grab the clutch actuator (just above the front sprocket) and try to line the pointed end on the actuator arm up with the point cast into the case. I bet that it goes past that (more forward than the casting).

If so, you can remove the clutch cover, reinstall the locknut (provided it hasn't messed anything up) and properly adjust it.

Set the carrier up on a block/crate in neutral, then in 6th gear with clutch lever pulled, try spinning tires to detect any roughness in brgs. Could be bad carrier, chain, or something in trans.
