I just had my engine bored out and now putting it back together. I went to put the generator back on and and start it but it wont start.
For some reason my friend took the screws out of the generator that holds the screws in place and that caused the magnets to shift and im not sure if the magnets should be in a certain spot on the fly wheel. can any one help please, im lost.

unless you have an adjustable timing plate there is only one way you can put the stator on and it will be positioned right....and the flywheel has a keyway in it that positions it on the crank....with both those there isnt really a way to have the magnets be off? or are you talking about the stator moved on the timing plate?

^ i think he means the coils themselfs attach to the stator plate. not sure if you can mess them up by removign and reinstalling and it not being dead on, i think they should just bolt right back in the same spot, only thing would be if there reveresed. try to find some pictures of others and match them. other than that, make sure you've got it all wired properly.
