need help fast!!

today i was riding my blaster and after riding it for a while i stopped and let it idle and it kept surging like i was pushing and letting off the throttle, i shut it off and started it again in a few minutes and it pretty much did the same thing except it would rev up at a really high level and not come down. is there an easy explanation for this or is there an idle adjust on the engine somewhere? i need help fast.

there is the idel ajuster but i dont think that will do anything for you...well if it jus started then its prolly sumthin in you carb...like your needle got stuck open or somethin...idk...bunch of stuff cums ta mind

we just pulled the carb apart and the needle slid fine, the piston was a little black but i don't know if that is a problem or not, there was no debree inside and everything looked clean. we just can't figure out why it will fun fine for a few minutes and idle fine then it will randomly rev up to really high rpms. then after that it will go back down and be okay for a few minutes and do it agian

you mean the throttle cable? i'm not sure about the removal kit, it just seems weird that it'd just happen you know? then idle okay for a while then do it again, you have any ideas?

i would say the same a flotech my 01 did the same thing and then i removed the tors and it fixed my problem

the TORS is known to cause more problems that it helps. you can even look on ebay for a TORS removal kit. you can either disable it while leaving the parts on your quad, or you can remove it all entirely with the kit. it gives you a new throttle cable and screw on cap for your carburator. look at the top of the carb, you will see a screw on cap right above where the intake boots fit on. everything above that cap is TORS related.

im the kind of person that will leave it alone unless its broken. i haven't ever had a problem that was related to the TORS system but i have heard of many that have. its up to you if you want to disable it. there are no negative effects of gettign rid of it. its only purpose is to release the throttle if the cable becomes stuck open so that you arent running wide open and end up getting hurt.

the same goes with the oil injection pump which is supposedly a problem point. i have gone through about 6 blasters in my lifetime so far and not one has had a problem there either. i can only assume that its a lack of maintenance that causes these to be a problem.

yeah i can see how no maintenance would cause problems with all that, i'm kinda with you about leaving the stuff alone as long as there's no problem with them. we found the idle adjuster and we're gonna try and see if that gets my blaster running a little better. i'll let you know if it helps at all
