Need Help-Crank Case

I recently bought a 2001 Yamaha Blaster that has a quarter size hole in the crank case.

I am looking to buy a crank case for it but am unsure whether it has to be specific to the year as well as the make.

I don't know much about four wheelers but wanted to learn by working on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

u can get odd cases to match up, some need a little grinding here and there to fit properly, but they will work
