I could try a new clutch arm but My clutch arm is actually in good condition still.
gotta be something down in there, or the bearing/seal is messed up ?
the case hasn't been whacked by the chain in that area has it ?

The bearing looks good, and the chain may have wacked it right there cause this all happen after the chain fell off.gotta be something down in there, or the bearing/seal is messed up ?

yes it does have a nice gouge in itding ding ding, we have a winner (hopefully not) ?
check the outside area right where the chain would hit it to see if it's pushed in
Is there anyway to fix this? Its probably pushing up against the side of the clutch arm preventing it from moving free, an the flat side on the lower portion is probably caught on the metal that pushed in from the chain

Thanks for all the help. I'll see what I can do. Does anyone know how much a new case halve is?you can try to push it back out with something, or drill/cut the damaged area out and quicksteel a patch over it, making certain none pushes back into the shaft cavity.
if all else fails you'll need a new case halve and split the bottom end to install it

Ok thanksleft side cases are becoming scarcer by the day, expect to pay $75-100 used.
plus labor if you're not capable of completely tearing that engine down yourself
Is there anyway to fix thisSplit cases an die grind the junk out of the tube an have the gouge tig welded shut an reassemble. Or buy new case, New from Yamaha is like 3bills for left half
Time now to rectify the problem that caused the chain to come off, otherwise it may just happen again. The bearing looks good, and the chain may have wacked it right there cause this all happen after the chain fell off.
The chain fell off because it was to loose. A nut from the rear axle came loose which loosened the chain and caused it to damage the case.Time now to rectify the problem that caused the chain to come off, otherwise it may just happen again.
What do you think caused the chain to fall off?
The nut came loose after I baught the quad, I never touched the bolt so it could have been the recent owner not tightening it.Another question, why did the nut come loose, from someone either not tightening or over tightening?
Is the chain and sprocket in reasonable condition?
Was the chain adjusted too tight?
Not trying to be difficult but it is very unusual for a nut to loosen off unless there are underlying circumstances.
How do I remove the push lever bearing?you can try to push it back out with something, or drill/cut the damaged area out and quicksteel a patch over it, making certain none pushes back into the shaft cavity.
