I bought a 1996 blaster and I don't know witch model I have to order parts for it looks like their Are a couple different kinds, problem 1:bad compression,problem 2:the kick starter won't come back up on its own. Any help would be appreciated thank you for looking have a good day. One other thing the boy I bought it from said it was
Bored out to a 250 how can I find out so I can order the right piston

wht kind of hood does it have? like does it touch the bumper? all blaster years for the mosst part are al lthe same.... engine wise, there exact. as for ur kick start, sounds like the return spring eaither broke or slipped out. just take the clutch cover off, and fix it. easy.

The piston, you are going to have to pull the head and cylinder off and measure the bore using a telescoping gauge and micrometer.

Good luck finding a piston for a jug bored out to 250cc,

You will need to have the jug measured to find the size of the bore.

here's how to measure your bore, if this looks like too much for you, take it to a reputable shop, or do like i do....just send it to ken oconnor racing and let him do everything...................

The bore will be 74.75mm, if it is in bored to a 250cc. More likely it was bored .050" which would put you to 67.25mm. Either way, you should take the cylinder to the shop who will be doing the boring and let them tell you what size piston you should buy. Another piece of good advise I read here was, if you go to a shop and they don't say anything about chamfering your ports, don't let them do the work. As far a low compression and your return spring, the parts to fix those things are the same for all years. You can find the year in your vin number. it's the 10th digit that tells the year.
