need advice

ok so i just put a new piston and rings and sleeve bearing for the rod, also all new seals, i went to kick it over and it started on the first kick. but i have loss of power, it wont idle and it smokes really bad and theres oil leaking out of the exhaust. im not sure if the reeds might be bad cause i left them out in the hot sun for like a week. but theres no tears in the reeds or anything. im gonna change the gas out cause that is 3 weeks old. any opinion will help just trying to figure this out

Did you put the piston in the correct way?

i think i did, i mean im no 2 stroke mechanic. the piston had markers for the rings so i think i have them in there right. if thats what you think it is im gonna take it apart again

the arrow on the top points to the exhaust. the windows on the piston should be on the intake side

i'd also look to see if you put the crank seals in the right way, if they're in backwards you'll have a leak for sure, be sucking trans oil and smoke like a trailer park hag

+rep for bradoz piston was backwards. i opened her back up and there was a nice chuck out of the top of the piston... oh well i figure just put it all back together and do it all again one day, sucks cause that was a 90 dollar mistake . funny part is i got it all done in less then an hour the second time putting it back together. it still has good compression and is riding strong, so until i break this piston i wont be opening her back up. thanks guys

did you retrieve the chunk of that piston? or was it melted? that's not a good deal at all

my buddy said he heard ting ting ting in the exhaust pipe so im guessing it just blew out
rode it around today for a little seemd ok compression is still real strong
