looks ok... cept for the cast piston, you would be better of gettin wiseco top end kit with a forged piston
I've been running one for about a year now with no issue, but dang now I'm not feeling so good about it. I just didn't know any better when I made my purchase decision, but for sure next time I'm not going to try and save a measly 20 bucks.
Should I seriously consider an early rebuild? Might be an excuse for porting, etc.
That's because you cheaped out and bought the cast ones, the FORGED ones are good, I haven't had any issues with my piston from Vito's.

by the way a guy i know had a WSM<i think thats what they are..do the exact same thing except a piece went through and knocked a nice hole in his cases also... wiseco all the way!
what really sucks is when the superscraps crack and break at the intake windows and rattle around still together and the customer rides them toitally unaware hes racing a time bomb ,then when they let loose the pricey big bore sleeve cracks up the intake side too ,at that point the whole jug is pretty much toast not just the pistons rings.last one that didnt run wiseco that i tore apart shattered its piston took out the crank and fortunately didnt ruin the cylinder bore too far or beat up the cases too bad like they sometimes do .his lesson was just a few hundred dollar or so fix
On the motor all I have is an F7 pipe, vitos dual stage reeds, and a no-toil air filter with lid off. The cylinder is on its 40 over bore with a namura piston. This particular rebuild was back in April of last year and compression is holding, but it's been used quite a bit. Next rebuild I might go for just a hone and wiseco piston, or I might splurge for a ported 240 kit.
Suspension is a whole other story. Been doing a lot of work on it lately and hope to have a thread posted up soon about it.
umm yea about these pistons, they arent meant to be stuck in your blaster for like 15 years and just left there. They have a hard anodized coating that makes them alot harder than stcok oem piston, but they are also more brittle too, which means you actually have to follow the replacement schedule on them, when you buys these pistons you pretty much accept that you need to replace them often so they wont shatter, but you get better performance as a tradeoff
