it actually f*ckin ran!!!I:II:II:II:I. im so happy, like a little kid. its not perfect though, it didnt want to idle on its own and its spitting a bit of black stuff out the front of the exhaust. also seems to be smoking a bit too much. the smoke is nice and white but smells kinda old and nasty. any ideas on what i should do next and what the smell and black stuff is?

black stuff is built up oil and ur exhaust gasket needing to be replaced. the smell maybe dead gas or even a crank seal depends on how bad it smokes. white smoke is a crank seal.

thats kinda what i figured it could be. so ive ran it for like 15 min just idleing and now its all cooled down, should i not restart it to finish breaking it in or is the crank seal ok just smokey and smelly? thanks guys I:I

the crank seal isnt all that hard to replace i just had to do mine not to long ago. as for if you should continue break in i dont know, sorry maybe someone else will chime in.

so im going thru the old threads and it looks like you dont need to split your cases to change the crank seals? pull the clutch on one side and the flywheel on the other?

if i new what you needed i could help you,but idk nothing about the crank case..

thats all man, just pull off the clutch and flywheel and stator and u can get to both seals, pretty easy job

yeah, i'd hold off on any more break-in, in case it sucks air and leans out, dont wanna create problems after all that work

i mixed my first tank to 20:1 for the break in and shes smoking a whole lot of white lol, and i know for a fact im not buring tranny oil
