Last time I posted on this forum, I was planning a yz125 hybrid build. After searching for a frame or bike and turning up short I found a deal on two trx250x hondas I could not pass up, so the 125 went back in the bike. The other day a friend of mine sold me his blaster for fifty dollars. All it needs is a top end rebuild, and some plastics. Like any other toy, I can't leave it at that because we all know that a stock blaster is only fun when you are eight years old lol. With that said, I will post some pics of what I am starting with tomorrow.

Where am I when people sell blasters for $50?
Congrats on the deal, and good luck with the project.

Here are the plans so far,
Check and replace all bearings,bushings,etc.,
Extend the swingarm,
400ex rear shock,
Not sure about the front shocks,
Extended steering stem,
New seat cover.
03-06 hood,
Replace the twist throttle with a thumb throttle,
New front grab bar,
Rear grab bar,
Thats the plans so far.

pics are a must, and last i checked a printer wasnt needed for that ????

use tinypic.com or photobucket.com, upload your pics and paste the .IMG code for message boards in with your reply, the pics will magically appear

I put the memory card in my printer and load them on the computer because I do not have a cord to connect the camera to the computer. Right now the printer is not working, and I can't find the disc.

Well I found my camera cord YAY!!!
Here are the pics, lets see if I can get them to load.
It is a 2000.

This friday I am taking the cylinder to the local shop to get it bored to the next size over, and ordering a top end rebuild kit.I'm also painting the frame, control arms, plastics, swingarm, hubs, and rims.

Heres what I'm thinking as far as paint,

Plastics blue, black
Frame orange
Control arms, swingarm black
Hubs orange
Rims blue, orange

Well tomorrow I am starting disassembly. Hopefully I can get down to a bare frame. Today I bought some primer, pumpkin orange paint for the frame, and the control arms are going to be metalic blue.

Awesome project! Good luck finishing things up when you get done moving. I know how that goes...the wife and I are in the process of moving as I'm typing this and all my projects are on hold until at least Christmas.

Couple tips for you on that engine: Be sure the local guy who bores your top end chamfers the ports, so that the piston rings don't catch on a rough edge. Also, I'd run a forged Wiseco piston, and be SURE to use ONLY OEM Yamaha gaskets upon reassembly. A leak-down test is also a must once you get the engine put back together.

ohhhh I think it needs more than a topend. but it can be refurbed take your time pull it all apart powdercoat paint new this new that and your in bussiness keep us updatedI:I
