My Idle adjuster doesn't work

I have a 98 blaster and my Idle Is way too high. My idle adjuster doesn't do anything. The only way to get the idle to die down is to hold the choke in. My idle adjuster is the box style on top of the carburetor that has the throttle cable go through it. Please help.

Time to do a leak down test and TORS eliminate throttle cable

X2 on the leakdown test. You may have an air leak. Also make sure carb is clean.
Search leakdown test on here.
If it is an airleak or leaks they need to be fixed. As they cause a lean condition with is bad.
Reed cage area is a very common spot to leak but not the only

Carburetor is cleaned out and has been rebuilt will do a leak down test though. I also have a new boot going to the reeds. will do a leak test though

Make sure your cable is not adjusted to tight.
You should have slight play at thumb lever
