my $600 blaster need build advise

dude have him do all of the head studs with time serts. i pulled out 4 of the 6 (one had already been helicoiled). check out your exhaust stud holes too.
I will, depending on the cost per hole I might just buy the time-sert kit and do it myself...I was really looking forward to getting this buttoned up this weekend...o-well lesser people would have riged it and posted it for sale..this is going to be done right.

I would like to compare it to a stock blaster after break in the cylinder has been ported by kustom kraft I just hope the head will work out, it was swapped in...maybee I should get some solder and do a squish band check this weekend and send the head off to RB Deisgns.

well I got my cylinder and head back today ran into a few snags... my machinists did a great job on the bore, hone, chamfering fixing the threads in a stud I pionted out...he did not chamfer the bottom of the sleeve to help the rings squish when installing the piston...I got pass this by doing that myself,

So I get the cylinder on the piston and tighten the base bolts, install the head and two studs pulled out of the cylinder... so I took the head back off and taped up the piston hole..I guess I'll wait till next week when he gets back and see if he can install the time-serts with the cylinder on cuz heliciols suck in the app.

i am the master of fixing head studs, all 6 of mine were bad at one point lol :D

i just really prefer the time serts. helicoils work ok but the time serts just seem like a better solution if you have access to them

well I got my head on and torqued down last night!! I took pics of the e-z-lok insert install, I got one off the studs off by a hair (slanted) and had a hard time putting the cap on...I got 120psi on the guage by spinning the flywheel with a 17mm connected to a drill...thats on the bench before break in...

all I have to do now is call the stealership and see if my spring washer has made its way from the left coast and I will be done... looking forward to playing with the carb...seems to = trouble for alot of folks

got the spring washer from the stealership and buttoned her up put her in,exhuast clutch, carb and chain, put my bud light test tank on and fired her up after a few kick and changing to a fresh plug...runs out good so far...idles great..only had 6 oz of pre mix so I will continue the madness tomorrow engine heated to 212*F
