I could see making some extensions for the front to keep the mud off of you. Maybe even the rears too.
A friend of mine does custom landscape design and makes a lot of little ponds with waterfalls and such in people's yards. He uses this pretty thick rubber stuff to hold the water and it would be perfect. Just drill a bunch of holes along the edges of the fenders, get some nice big bolts with fat heads, just like the stock ones, or maybe it woudl be easier to just find some big washers, and bolt some of that stuff on there. It's flexible enough not to get in the way yet heavy enough to keep a lot of the mud off of you. Let us know how it works out!!
