i got a 2000 blaster that i picked up, and it runs but wont idle. wen i got it two days ago it ran but kinda was choppy and broke up wen givin gas. so today i added fresh gas cause it was sitting for 6 months and new oil, and i changed the spark plug. then i just sprayed into the carb with cleaner and after a few kicks it started n i drove it for about 10 minutes and it got cleared up and rides smooth and has power now. but it still will not idle for sh*t. i adjusted the screw but it doesnt do anything. anything else i can check for? i was thinking about taking the carb about and cleaning it real good, and also i was thinking about if it could be a vacum leak. i got a hose from the bottom of the carb thats about 8 inches long going to no where and gas sometimes drips out. wat is that for? any help will be aprreciated. thanks

the long tube that goes to no where, is your carbs overflow. gas sometimes drips out its an overflow.. if its pouring out then your floats to high.
you said you adjusted your idle screw but your air jet needs to be adjusted also, thas under the seat turn it one and a half turns out. then see if you can get it to idle.

well, being you only sprayed the carb, i think you should rip it off and tear it down and thoroughly clean it up. also, check your jetting.. impropper jetting is the quickest way to ruin your top end. im thinking that the tube your thinking about is the crankcase pressure relief tube, oil will drip out of there on occassion if you have to much, or you roll it.. or just whatever... You could also remove your TORS which can be found here--- http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself/655-how-remove-your-tors.html if you don't want to remove the TORS, you can try playing with the smaller, brass screw on the side of the carbuerator turn it all the way in (not tight, because if it goes too tight you may damage the soft alluminum seating) and back it out 1 and a half turns or keep going out until you get a nice idle, but don't go out more than 3 turns because then it could possibly vibrate out.

hope thats somewhat of a help, don't be afraid to contact me if you need anything else

thanks for the info guys. i actually took it apart this morning and took off the carb and cleaned it all up and nice. looks new!!! and i cleaned everthing else and kicked it over a few times and it has an idle now...just need my clutch cable to come in and a hydraulic rear brake setup. what is the air jet by the way? is that wat goes on top of the carb? im new so bare with me.

I just posted a little bit ago,but its the same thing. Get a stock banshee carb and put bigger jets in it,if you have the block off plate. Then you wont need to worry about a bunch of stuff. Just get back to the basics of the carb and it will be allot simpler for ya guys!
