Just recently bought my first blaster(2004) and I'm having a bit of difficulty finding some parts for it. What I'm looking for it the bracket and bolts that mounts the rear caliper. So far the only hardware I've found is from bikes from the 80's, and from what I understand so far, those only fit on bikes up to '02. I've seen all of the exploded view diagrams but can't make out which is the part that mounts the caliper. Everything else is there, just no way to mount it. Or am I looking at this wrong? Here's a picture of what's going on.

Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure if there is a piece that mounts to the caliper then to the bracket.
The pic didn't show, so I'm not sure what you were seeing.

Ok... so here are the pictures. I figured out my smartphone isn't so smart.

Hopefully you guys can tell me where I'm going wrong here.

Is that a hydraulic caliper? If so that looks like a pre 03 rear carrier. I found out the hard way that the pre 03 carriers don't work with 03 and up calipers.

correct, the 03+ hydro carriers have welded on spacers on the carrier ears, for the caliper bracket to bolt too

Its hydro... everything is stock. I was told that the previous owner disconnected the caliper because the brake fluid ran low and he didnt know how to bleed the brakes.

Edit: I dont know if its stock... thats just what I was told

Someone switched out the rear carrier to a older one that's for sure. Someone told be to make a bracket to make the caliper fit, but even then the carrier wouldn't go on because the older style bracket was hitting the swing arm before I could even get it lined up. It's probably best you start your 03 and up carrier hunt.

lameeee... guess its time to start hunting for more parts. any chance you already know where to get one?

there are 2 ways to mount that hydro caliper on a pre 03 carrier

1. try to get east coast atv to sale you just the bracket they use in their big $ banshee conversion kits ??
give them a call..........eastcoastatv.com
good luck !

it bolts on in place of the e-brake mechanism

2. make a bracket like that yourself, member "best" has something similar on his blaster, you can search thru his posts if ya want ?
if you don't have, or can't work with material as thick as the ecatv bracket, a thinner 3/16" or 1/4" steel bracket will work, but may require longer bolts and spacers to center the caliper on the disc ?

There is a carrier for sale on here in the for sale section. Good seller too. If that's what you want to do..
