as promised last week, here's the pics of how i cut the snorkel from the vf3 reed cage so it would bolt on under my pro-design intake, which has the same angle and shape opening, so why did i need both?????,
i cut the nozzle from the vf3 rear plate, lap sanded it on a flat metal workbench, bolted the 2 together, reached thru and scribed a line on the excess plate, the red arrows in the 1st pic show where this extra material was, used a dremel tool and slowly ground and smoothed it off, the 2nd pic shows what the finished plate looked like, but the 1st pic shows it all bolted together and the nice smooth transition between the 2 pieces

/\/\/\/\/\/\ yeah, it's pretty easy to do, that sh*t the vf3 is made of is so hard it'd be pretty hard to f it up, but its gotta allow better flow, do it!!!!

is your AM intake bigger then the stock one...im guessing it is

the directions that came with the vf3's shows how to cut the lip (nozzle) from the motor side of the stock boot, it even came with bolts, nuts and washers to space it out for the hacksaw blade to fit in for cutting,
and i never compared the inside diameters of the 2 intakes, but they're saying if ya cut the nozzle from a stock intake the vf3 nozzle will fit inside of it?????
that sounds like it is bigger than the i.d. of my pro-design??????

yeah but the plate as a whole seems like it has something to do with the back pressure and limiting the airflow thru the vf3's for this motor, i'm sure they know what they're doing, it has to serve some purpose, but the nozzle just didnt work for my pieced together parts
