well im glad you like it uni. just from the video it looks like it touching... :-/
either way, honestly its not the bike, shock or install its just bent too close![]()
ah ok yeah thats what fed was saying too
Yea it seems alot better and still sits straight and correct
dam dude thanks uni, you just proved to everyone how ridiculously close the stinger pipe sits to the STOCK SHOCK. Can you even fit a peice of paper in there!?! the 1st vid at 0:23-0:27 you can see how freakin' close this is and why it broke. CASE CLOSED the stinger pipe was made poorly, so was the silencer... so for 300 bucks you get a decent head pipe...
half inch spacer behind the silencer and a longer bolt... when ever you install a after market part you have to check for clearences, uni i think you should also see about puttin a space there you got like 3inches towards the frame...back to holeshot its a case of you didnt check everything before you went riding it happens to everyone i burnt a bunch of outerwares from installing them not realizing that the hot pipe would touch sometime, but i cant come on here and bash the outerware company for makin bad products. operater/installer error
I would like to say thanks Uni, Great vids. I didn’t realize how popular the 400ex rear shock mod was. I checked the clearance with the Shearer and stock shock; it was 3/4 inch on my test bike.
Anyway I called Mat to let him know that guys are running different shocks and their is a clearance issue on some shocks. Mat is going to change the location of the silencer mount to help out with any interference fit on different shocks. Thanks for all the info, the feedback is very helpful
