Guys, I wanna know what it takes to make a quad street legal in the state of Indiana! I've got a buddy that has a Yamaha Warrior and he made it street legal. I can't seem to get a hold of him right now. So guys, what does it take? Turn signals, mirrors, street tires, License Plate? Anything else?

headlight
tail/brake light
horn
mirror
insurance

thats all i needed here in south dakota to street legal my quad...i had to get a noterized form stating these items where in the bike and functioning...then off to the court house to get it registered and get a plate

I've got insurance. It says for Bodily Injury/Property Damage Liability and Medical Payments on my card. Is this all i need? or do i need vehicle insurance for if i wreck it, the insurance will pay for the damage? and i also thought you had to have street tires like the Maxxis TT or something like that?

you need the quad on your ins.....you might need street tires..i nvr had them...but they wearout fast on the street

I wonder if my high school will let me ride it to school? My state says i have to be 16 and have to join a class for motorcycles or something which ain't bad.. Probably a lil' different with quads but anyway... I really dont have the money to buy a car. I'm sure if i put a 14 tooth sprocket on front, I won't have a problem keeping up with the 35mph speed limit around here. lol

i thought quads were illegal a crossed all states?
YB did you ride it to work and stuff with it being no big deal?
or was it just going from trail to trail?

I only live 5-10 miles away from my high school! I just wondering how big of a deal it would be to ride it there since I like my quad better than most cars. I'm addicted to my blaster!

this would be cool to do. but i dont think it would fly to well where i live. i have gotten the cops called on me for just starting my blaster up and riding it up and down the street already.

I've got some Jackass neighbors where I live! I got the cops called cause i have a Toomey Pipe which i think is 97 db. I was riding in my yard too! Cop came over and said, "gotta nice blaster dont cha"? I said like yea! He told me he had one and alse had a banshee. Cop just told me as long as its your property, you will be fine. He told me his had a dynoport pipe. Cop was cool! Wish there were more of em'!

I have been trying to get street legal as well. Marshall County, Indiana enacted an ordinance to allow ATVs on the road under certain conditions:

"the ATV must have operating headlights, tail lights and brake lights; the operation is limited to daylight hours only and the owner must carry liability insurance."

This was to help farmers to get from one field to another legally, but helps all responsible ATV owners. Just can't take it inside city limits.

Here is a Site that has some laws and regs from Indiana. If you google ATV Laws by State you can find others as well. Indiana State ATV Information i was wondering this my self For ohio. I have my Motorcycle License as well as my Reg Licens And Think If it has all the bells and whistles a car has you should be aloud to ride just the same as you can rid e On/Off Road dirt Bike on the street.
