Well i got the lrd exhaust that i have been wanting well im disapointed. I finally drove 2 hours one way go there the reeds i think are the very first vforce reeds(for sale) the pipe is in decent shape but the silencer is shat!! The screws that hold it together is all different types and wollered out. I get home put it on which was one son of a gun. Start it up all the air comes out of one little whole that is around the screw. I thought that is was wierd that there was no air comin at of the end (path of least resistance). I take it apart all there was in side it was packin that was packed into the outlet part of the silcencer hard as a rock.

So heres my questions should there be a tube goin down the middle of it with packin around it?
Also whats the adjustment thing about?
and how do i mount it up fully theres a bracket but it doesnt line up with the a-arm bolt do i need to make a little bracket? heres a pic of what i mean i tried to show you the gap

LRD silencers leak where the screws mount in. All of mine do. The best you can do is threadlock the screws that go into them so they don't vibrate out and then maybe you can put a little rubber coating or gasket between the screw and the can. I just let it be and wipe off the excess fuel/oil that comes out.

There is a bracket that mounts on that pipe hole to something.....can't remember off the top of my head. I'll have to check it out to remember. If you don't have the bracket with the pipe, you can easily make one. It's just a small straight piece of metal with 2 holes in it.

K i was gonna use some silicone and rivets and k ill just make a bracket but what about the adjustability and the packing of the silencer
I was think to go to my hardware store get like a mesh make a tube and put steel wool around it would that work

i cant realy tell by your pictures can you please make them bigger
the adjustment your talking about im asuming its an adjustble pipe?

I've never repacked mine so I couldn't say. Packing for a silencer doesn't cost that much. If you have to pick up new jets to use, just buy some exhaust packing when you get the jets. Mine is the non-adjustable version. LRD's 1st gen version was adjustable, but I don't know much about it. The RFX (my version) was the 2nd gen version.

Dont use steel wool its ghetto.

Yes you need the perferated tube inside your packing goes around it.

Theres not much really to repacking a can if i were you id do the rivets.i just repacked my D&D can on my gixxer and used rivets.next time i repack it i simply drill the centers out of the rivets and they fall out.

i didnt read all of the above responses so forgive any double posts
thats the exact same pipe as on my boys, theory is the longer you make the expansion chamber the more bottom end, the shorter you make it the more top end
and once it is mounted on the bike it is nearly impossible to adjust, so i took the 2 halves apart, used high temp copper silicon, smeared some the whole way around, put it together and tightened the adjustment bolts till it was compressed together the whole way, for the shortest expansion chamber for more top end, is there a difference ????? never try'd the long expansion
i do remember back in the late 90's dirt wheels did a pipe shootout, and this pipe was 2nd i believe, behind a hand built cone pipe
as for that front mount, no matter what i did, it will not, can not, reach the a-arm bolt, i just made a small steel bracket about 1-2 inches long and used it under the a-arm bolt, then bolt and nut to the pipe hanger
and i did not get the lrd silencer to use with this pipe, i had to cut the curved stinger pipe off the f7 silencer to mate with this pipe, they are straight at that point to allow the expansion to be adjusted while it's all connected
i wished it was easy to adjust as i'd like to try different lengths, but it sucks to do, so where it's at, is what it is, it's only on the boys bike anyway

as for those reeds, are the petals held in by screws ?????
if so, gently pull the screws and loctite them in, or pass them off on ebay and get the vf3's, those old vf2's are known to occasionally lose a screw into the cylinder, fubar'in everything

edit.....i would never use steel wool to pack a silencer, the pipe scavenges and sucks spent fuel/hot gases back into the cylinder, you want steel wool doing that ???? i don't, and no matter how many bro's do use steel wool, for under $10 i wouldnt ghetto chance it

and the screws on the adjustable expansion chamber are like 3 inches long and if i remember correctly there about 2 inches of travel

Thanks does anyone have a silencer that they would sell or a crap one for shippin??

i did do the loctite but
do you think i could use cotton balls to pack it?

Cotton will burn out in one ride. I just did Larry's Banshee with H.D. 3M Stainless steel scouring pads. 6 in each can packed real good, they will never rust or burn out

any other silencer will not fit this pipe, without cutting the curve from the stinger tube, did you not read what i wrote above ?????
and just buy some fmf packing and do the silencer correctly

if you do find and modify another silencer to fit this pipe, i want that lrd silencer from you !!!!!!!!!

Well decided to use the silencer. I ended up gettin gutter mesh and makin a tube riviting it together. Put coarse and medium grit steel wool in there. heres a couple pics while doin it.
